Imagine The Possibilities!

YOU Can Help Us Make Their Dreams a Reality.
Make A Pledge Today!

You can make a monumental impact in the life of a student.

Beginning in January 2027, you can make a huge impact in the life a Florida student by donating to the Step Up, Step Further Scholarship Fund. The fund, powered by the federal Education Freedom Tax Credit, allows taxpayers to contribute up to $1700.00 to a qualified Scholarship Governance Organization (SGO) and receive a dollar-for-dollar federal tax credit.

Who Can Donate?

The Education Freedom Tax Credit is open to individual taxpayers beginning in 2027. We are actively monitoring rules to be distributed by the U.S. Department of Treasury for additional information.

What Is The Tax Credit?

This is a dollar-for-dollar federal tax credit of up to $1,700 that lets you choose where part of your federal taxes go. Instead of sending that money to the IRS, you can redirect it to a Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO), reducing your tax bill while helping students access better educational opportunities.

How Much Can I Give?

There is no cap for donations. You can donate up to $1,700 to receive the tax credit, and any additional amount over that can be counted as a deduction.

How It Works

Your Contribution =
Their Bright Future

When you donate to the Step Further Scholarship Fund, you are not only reducing your Federal Tax liability up to $1,700, you are making an immense difference in the life of a student.

This donation doesn’t cost you anything out of pocket. If you owe federal taxes, you can lower what you owe by up to $1,700. Instead of sending that portion to the federal government, you can choose to redirect it and make a huge difference in the life of a student.

The Step Up, Step Further Scholarship Fund will help public and private students in K-12 obtain educational resources beginning in 2027. The scholarship can also be used in addition to your Step Up, or AAA Florida state scholarships to make even more impact.

When you partner with Step Up, Step Further, you're partnering with a Scholarship Granting Organization with nearly 25 years of scholarship experience. Our parent organization currently serves over 550,000 families with over $5 billion in funds.

Tax Credits vs. Write-Offs

In 2027, donors who contribute to an approved Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO) can receive a dollar for dollar tax credit of up to  $1,700.00.

Tax Write-Off (Deduction)

  • A tax write-off lowers the amount of money you pay taxes on.
  • Example: If you make $50,000 and have a $1,000 write-off, you only pay taxes on $49,000.
  • It reduces your taxable income, not your actual tax bill.
  • Think of it as shrinking the size of the pie the government taxes.

Tax Credit

  • A tax credit lowers the actual amount of tax you owe.
  • Example: If you owe $1,000 in taxes and have a $200 credit, you now owe $800.
  • The credit can be carried forward for up to 5 years.
  • It directly reduces your tax bill, dollar for dollar.
  • Think of it as a coupon that takes money off your tax bill.
